Marijuana has been used in the mystic rituals of Buddhism since the 5th century BC. Some Tibetan priests believe it to be the most sacred of all plants. There are even written records that the founder of Buddhism, Gautama Siddhartha, lived primarily on hemp seeds and leaves years before his enlightenment.
